BILLINGS - Jurors deliberated only a few hours before finding a Billings man guilty of killing three neighbors in the fall of 2006.

Prosecutors say Richard Covington kidnapped two of his neighbors in a cluster of apartments, robbed them, tied them up and held them for several days before killing them and setting their apartment on fire.

They say the third victim "saw something or knew something" and was shot and killed. Gerald Morris was found dead on the side of the road just south of Billings.

In closing arguments, prosecutors said physical and circumstantial evidence pointed to Covington as the killer. The defense, however, attacked the credibility of several key state witnesses, citing their addictions to drugs and alcohol.
