HAMILTON - Two Hamilton students face charges for allegedly stealing two guns in a burglary and then bringing the loaded weapons to school.

Hamilton police arrested the two this week after a Crimestoppers tip from someone who reported seeing the guns at the West View Alternative Learning Center. An investigation led to the discovery of two revolvers at the home of one of the youths.

One juvenile was arrested on a probation violation after Hamilton Police School Resource Officer Stacy McElderry found an empty holster, but no weapons. A second youth was sent home.

A subsequent search at the school found a camouflage jacket with a speed-loader filled with live ammunition in its pocket. The jacket allegedly belonged to one of the suspects.

After receiving information from school administrators that the youth who was sent home had retrieved the guns before leaving, McElderry said police recovered two fully loaded revolvers at that youth's home.
