KALISPELL - A weekend fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damage to a Kalispell barbecue restaurant. Kalispell Fire Chief Dan Diehl says the fire at Famous Dave's was reported at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday. All the patrons were safely evacuated.

Diehl says it appears the fire started due to a buildup of natural gas in the kitchen area. When crews arrived, 20-foot flames were shooting through the roof in one corner of the building.

Damage from the fire was contained to the west end of the building, but there was heavy smoke and water damage throughout the restaurant.
