MISSOULA - For some lucky winner, $100 may be all it takes to snatch up a new home in Missoula.

The University of Montana and the Missoula Building Industry Association are teaming up to raffle a 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom home.

The energy-efficient home, with an estimated value of $340,000, is being built by students at the University of Montana's College of Technology. Associate Dean Lynn Stocking says it's the first time the college has teamed up with the trade group on a project like this.

The raffle for the student-built home was a centerpiece at the building trade show last weekend. College students in the carpentry program are working with local high school students under the guidance of a pair of instructors.

Organizers are selling 5,000 raffle tickets. The drawing will be held Sept. 26.
