KALISPELL - A 30-year-old Flathead Valley man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he killed his father and brother and later held six people hostage at gunpoint, including his wife and children.

Justin R. Calbick entered his pleas Thursday before District Judge Stewart Stadler. His attorney reserved the right to amend the not guilty plea pending results of a mental health evaluation.

Calbick is charged with two counts of deliberate homicide in the Jan. 27 shooting deaths of 60-year-old Donald Calbick and 38-year-old Stacey Calbick. Both men had been shot in the head.

Calbick is also charged with kidnapping, aggravated burglary and assault with a weapon for allegedly breaking into his estranged wife's house and holding her, her father, her friend and three children hostage at gunpoint.
