MONTANA - Separate motorcycle crashes near Neihart and Roundup have killed two men this weekend. The first crash occurred Friday, when 21-year-old James Smith of Roundup rolled his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 87 just outside of town.
The Montana Highway Patrol says Smith was thrown from the bike. He was taken to Roundup Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Billings Clinic, where he died Friday night. A 61-year-old Great Falls man was killed in the second crash on U.S. Highway 89 near Neihart.
That crash happened Saturday morning, when Wallace Gruwell lost control of his motorcycle while trying to make a left turn and hit the side of a bridge. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Benefis East.
