Medical marijuana dispensary opens in Missoula

MISSOULA - A medical marijuana dispensary has opened in Missoula.

Montana Pain Management Inc. opened the clinic on South Third Street West earlier this fall. Rick Rosio, president of the company, became a state-licensed caregiver 4 years ago and can legally grow as many as six marijuana plants for each of his patients.

Montana is one of 14 states that allow some use of marijuana for medical purposes after voters passed a ballot initiative in 2004. Rosio says more than 300 patients now obtain their medical marijuana from his clinic, and that a dozen or more are signing up each day.

The clinic produces various strains for different ailments, and provides home-delivery services to hospice patients at no charge.

While I believe in the benefits of medical marijuana, I don not believe that this cause has the appropriate spokesperson. Mr. Rosio is a long time sweet-talking con-man. If you do a bit of research you would find that he scammed and swindled everyone he met in his home state of Wisconsin, including the State of Wisconsin and United States Federal Government. Mr. Rosio is under a quiet investigation in Montana and Wisconsin for drug trafficking. There are also claims of the sexual assault of a child in thte works. The clinic is a wonderful idea but the spokesperson leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Story published Nov. 29, 2009 Pain Management Center opens. This cause needs a better spokesperson. Mr. Rosio is a long time con artist and abused hardcore drugs such as cocaine. Mr. Rosio will only do harm to this cause if he continues to head it.

Lucy, I am not, and never will, argue against the legitimacy of medical marijuania and its benefits. But really, if you read some of these posts that state what they carry, it DOES read like an ad from High Times. Look at the MCCC posting from 1 Dec at 10:02 and you'll see what I mean. I am a firm believer of the medicinal benefits of medical marijuania. I've done everything I can in support of it without getting myself in deep doo doo with my current employer.

KMS, It's NOT! High Times is a pro legalization and recreational use magazine that does not deal much with medicine. Please don't confuse legitimate medical use with recreational abuse of marijuana. They are not the same. I think these dispensaries on these threads are simply trying to help people who need meds and not hurt anyone. Please be less judgemental about people that are just trying to help. I have serious ills and cannot live without medical marijuana....these folks are a godsend!
