KALISPELL - The Montana Highway Patrol says a bus carrying the Kalispell Glacier volleyball team ran a red light and crashed into a truck, but there were no serious injuries.

The team was heading to Missoula for a playoff match when the crash happened Thursday afternoon.

Trooper J.R. Hawkins says the bus was southbound on U.S. Highway 93 in Somers when the driver failed to stop for a red light. The bus slammed into a stopped truck. The front of the bus was badly damaged and students had to evacuate out the back of the bus.

Hawkins says no citations have been issued yet, and they are still investigating the accident.

The team called another bus and continued their trip to Missoula Sentinel, which won the match 3-1 to advance to next weekend's Class AA state volleyball tournament in Bozeman.
