MANG's new jets draw noise complaints

GREAT FALLS - Some Great Falls residents aren't welcoming the Montana Air National Guard's transition from F-16 to F-15 fighter jets, saying the noise from the new aircraft is bothersome.

Maj. Rick Anderson says the Guard has received complaints in recent months, but the noise generated from both jets is very similar. He says he thinks people are just readjusting to having military aircraft overhead.

Montana pilots switched to the F-15s in August 2008 after flying F-16s for more than two decades. The Guard has received all 18 of their F-15 jets, and Anderson says more sorties are being generated on a daily basis.
