BOZEMAN - A 38-year-old man originally accused of making methamphetamine in his Bozeman trailer has been released after serving 158 days in jail.

Alan Gould appeared in District Court Tuesday and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

He and 46-year-old Anthony Cole Daniels were arrested May 28 at Gould's trailer when a probation officer discovered a small meth lab. Both men were charged with manufacturing dangerous drugs and operating a clandestine laboratory.

But when Daniels pleaded guilty to the charges last week, he told the judge that Gould did not know about the operation. That cleared the way for the plea bargain that freed Gould.

He was being held on $250,000 bail and had nearly served the maximum sentence for the misdemeanor charge.
