MISSOULA - Missoula County officials believe a man who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy over the weekend used the prescription drugs to commit suicide.

A 47-year-old man who matched the description of the Walgreens robber was found dead at his home early Sunday of an apparent drug overdose.

Missoula County sheriff's Capt. Greg Hintz says the evidence suggests the man committed the robbery to obtain drugs to kill himself. He says officers are still awaiting toxicology reports, but the man left a suicide note. Hintz says the time of death was several hours after the robbery, which was reported at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

Police are investigating the robbery, which happened in the city, while the sheriff's department is investigating the death because the man lived outside the city limits.
