GREAT FALLS - A 26-year-old Great Falls man is charged with felony assault on a minor, after his infant son was shaken and suffered bleeding in his brain.

William Bloyd was arrested Saturday, after the six-week-old baby was taken to the emergency room. Doctors said the boy's injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome and called police.

Court records say Bloyd was watching the baby while the mother was at work. He called 911 Saturday afternoon to report the infant was having trouble breathing.

Prosecutors say Bloyd told police he became frustrated because the baby wouldn't stop crying. Bloyd's bail was set at $25,000.
