GREAT FALLS - A man is dead and two women are seriously injured after their car collided with a pickup truck near Fort Benton.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Bob Armstrong says a northbound car carrying the man and the women veered onto the shoulder of U.S. Highway 87 at around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. The driver overcorrected, and the car crashed into a southbound pickup truck, rolling and ejecting the man and one of the women.

The man was pronounced dead at a Great Falls hospital, and the women are listed in serious condition. Their names have not been released. Two occupants in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and were not hospitalized.

Armstrong says alcohol appeared to play a role in the accident.
