BOZEMAN - Montana State University in Bozeman has been awarded a federal grant of $600,000 for research to detect contaminants in drinking water.

The money is in a package of $3.6 million in drinking-water research grants the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded to four universities, one nonprofit organization and a research institute.

The MSU work will include an emphasis on water quality and associated health considerations on the Crow Reservation in southeastern Montana.
