HELENA - U.S. Sen. Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Kalispell on Sunday, as the Obama campaign looks to carry Montana in November.

It will be Biden's first trip to Montana as the Democratic vice presidential nominee. The Obama campaign says tickets will be available for the event, which is billed as a discussion with area voters. Details on location, time and ticket distribution have yet to be released.

Barack Obama has staked out Montana as a battleground state, promising to overturn years of GOP dominance in presidential elections. His campaign has opened offices around the state, hired full-time staff and aired radio and TV ads.

Obama has also visited the state five times, including a stop last week in Billings.
