Man dies in fiery rollover crash near Malta

HELENA - A 28-year-old Malta man has died in a fiery rollover crash.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was southbound on U.S. Highway 191 near Malta on Monday afternoon when his car went into the ditch. The car struck an embankment, became airborne, rolled 1.5 times and came to rest on its top. The vehicle then caught fire. The patrol says the man died at the scene. His name hasn't been released.

The death was the 123rd on state highways this year, compared to 155 at the same time a year ago.
