KALISPELL - Forecasts for warmer weather have the National Weather Service predicting that some northwestern Montana rivers and streams will flood by next weekend.

Emergency-services workers met Friday in Kalispell to plan their response. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will rise into the 70s or 80s late this week. With little of the mountain snowpack having melted, forecasts indicate several rivers in northwestern Montana will approach or exceed flood stage by Sunday.

The rivers include the Yaak, the Fisher, the main Flathead and the Middle Fork of the Flathead.
