HELENA - Policy holders with the Montana State Fund will be receiving a little break in the upcoming fiscal year. Starting July 1st there will be a 3% rate reduction.

State fund officials say less claims, a medical cost containment plan and improved management have all contributed to the reduction. In all, a joint effort between the state fund and employers. "And our own response. Excellent claim management, customer service and the focus on safety. Again, Montana employers are making safety work," explained Peter Strauss with the Montana State Fund.

The state fund estimates the rate reduction will save it's 28,000 policy holders roughly $7 to $8 million every year. That's between $200 and $250 for each employer.
