BILLINGS - We got a chance to catch up with a sqaud of winners from West High School. The Junior Varsity and Varsity cheer leaders took first in their division at the Cheerleaders of America Ultimate Nationals Competition over the weekend.

They were the only team from our state to compete and they exceeded expectations. The 23 girls took their high school squad to the competition in Orlando, Florida for the first time this year. They had a brand new coach this year and a team with quite a few newcomers.

They competed against a team from New York for the win, and said it was intimidating, but completely worth all the pressure. "There's a lot of pressure to prove to everyone that a little montana team can take nationals and it's just a huge deal." says senior cheerleader Danielle Lang. The girls say they think of the team as family. And their coach says she couldn't ask for a better team. She also says she hopes the ones that can come back next year to hopefully take their team to a win again.
