HELENA - If you're planning on making a New Year's resolution to stop smoking, you now have another tool in the effort. The Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program has started IQuit08.com, an online blog dedicated to quitting tobacco. And it's not just for those trying to quit.
"We also encourage people who have already quit to go on there and share their stories with us," said Heather Beck, a cessation specialist with the MTUPP. "We think that if people aren't quite sure about if they want to quit or not, they can go on there and read these stories and it will help them choose to quit."
According to the prevention program, tobacco users who have support in quitting are seven to ten times more likely to be successful. By signing on to the blog, users are able to access constant support.
