GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — PPL Montana says a construction worker has been killed in an accident at the work site of a dam northeast of Great Falls.

The Great Falls Tribune reports that authorities responded Tuesday morning after receiving a call that a worker had been in an accident involving heavy equipment.

PPL says an employee of a subcontractor for the construction project died, but did not identify the person. The company referred all questions to the Cascade County Sheriff's Office.

Some 200 people are working on the Rainbow Dam construction project. Workers are building a new power house and installing new turbine equipment to increase the amount of power the hydroelectric facility can produce.
