BILLINGS - Helping hands at ZooMontana for the United Way's annual Day of Caring.

Officials with ExxonMobil and the Human Resource Development Council teamed up to sand benches and pull weeds around the zoo. Volunteers said they were excited to help ZooMontana because it's a place that families across the city enjoy. "We're really excited to be here today. We love to be able to be a part of the community, and we receive a lot of help when community volunteers come through our agency. We give a lot to the people who come for services, so it feels great to be able to give something back," HRDC Communications Director; Tess Keck said.

Thursday was the 50th anniversary of Day of Caring in Billings. It was a day that encouraged people to take time and volunteer within their communities. The celebration kicked off Thursday morning at MetraPark, and groups began their volunteer projects at 2:00 p.m.
