BILLINGS - St. Vincent Healthcare is expecting to have a new orthopedic center by 2013. The center will focus on joint replacements and spinal treatments, as well as other muscular and skeletal conditions.

Contractors are designing 18 patient rooms that average 350 square feet on the campus. Patient's families will have the option to stay the night at the facility.

St. Vincent CEO Jason Barker said his staff and patients are looking forward to the new orthopedic center.

"It's going to create that warm, welcoming environment, and it's going to provide a better space for patients and their loved ones. Loved ones can room in, they'll have more space," Barker said. "And again for our caregivers, it will be better space for them to care for our patients, as well. So everybody's really excited about it."

Officials have scheduled construction on the $8.2 million project to begin in November.
