SD2 to Redraw District Boundaries

Tools

By MacLeod Hageman

BILLINGS - School District Two board members are at the very beginning of what could be a long process to redraw boundary lines throughout the district.

This means students may have to switch to a different school within the district down the road. The idea has been on the planning board for years, and trustees say schools need to better utilize classroom space to eliminate overcrowding.

"They're starting to set the stage to begin some work in that area. In the end, it will be the administration that will be doing the boundary studies. It will be the board giving us some guidance for what they want us to look for," Superintendent; Jack Copps said.

Sounds like the old Garfield and North Park issues once again. I would hope this time they take the children in consideration and not just this school or that school can handle these x amount of kids. In the end, it's the children who suffer not the adults.
