Possible Tornado in West Yellowstone

By Chelsea Rabideau

WEST YELLOWSTONE - A powerful storm blew through West Yellowstone late Saturday afternoon. Now, the National Weather Service is sending a team out to inspect the damage and decide if the storm produced a tornado or what they're calling "straight line winds."

Several hotels and homes in town are reporting major damage. Trees and power lines were downed. The N.W.S. team will look at the pattern of damage. A twisting pattern in the damage would indicate a tornado did form. Otherwise, the damage will be blamed on powerful "straight line winds."

The team will head down to West Yellowstone on Sunday.
