BILLINGS - New details emerge in the stabbing deaths of two sisters.

On Wednesday, the family released a photo of Rose Edwards, 22, and her 21-year-old sister, Daisy. According to court documents, both women were stabbed to death, and the man accused of the crime allegedly told detectives "I don't have an honest answer why I hurt either one of those girls".

The suspect, 20-year-old Andrew Denning remains in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on two counts of deliberate homicide. The Billings man made his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon. Denning sat with his head in his hands as he awaited his video appearance before Judge Larry Herman.

His mother and family held each other in the courtroom during his appearance.

It may have been a text message sent by Rose that led police to Denning. Before she was murdered Friday night, Rose had texted a co-worker that a man by the name of "Drew" was causing problems that night.

Two days later, police found the bodies of the sisters wrapped in blankets in the living room.

The court documents say Denning told his girlfriend that he had "done something terrible" and said that he tried to sell the sisters Ambien, but when they wouldn't pay he killed them.

Detectives say when they confronted Denning with the statement he made to his girlfriend Denning said, "book me now, honestly book me now."

When detectives said he brutally murdered the women, Denning replied, "yeah."

The court documents indicate Denning had been released from a psychiatric ward just two days before the women were killed. Denning remains in the detention facility on a $1 million bail, his next court appearance is tentatively scheduled for February 10th.

This guy was one of my best friends. It is sad for me to see this happen. He was always kind and considerate. I'm curious as to why he ended up in the pysch ward. He was never someone you would expect to end up in a place like that. Something must have happened to make him snap. I hope GOD will forgive him as I have.

Gosh, what's the price of 2 Ambien pills? 10 Bucks? This is why they died? Really? This kid is insane, how he got out of the psyche ward is beyond me!

He was just released from a psychiatric ward. That has nothing to do with looking Gothic or Ambien. It speaks for itself.

No it wasn't there appearance. Look at their eyes. And read the report of him selling Ambien to them or trading it for sex. Call it what it is. I have friends too, who have the gothic look and I don't judge them by the rings, hair color, tats etc. But still, I don't know what they do behind closed doors. When I gets so bad that there is loss of life then someone out there has to call a spade a spade. Let's wait for the toxicology report and we will have to agree to disagree until then. If and when the police decide to tell the whole story. I'd be willing to bet that I'm not too far off on my thoughts. I feel terrible that it had to happen to these young people. And I know that to some they were loving friends, for saying what I did, I'm sorry. But it is what it is. Let's get the Ambien and ease of obtaining it in quantity off the streets. That Dr. should be accountable as well. It's another shame that Drew didn't get the help he needed.

I have been taking ambien for years and have had nothing of the sort of the side effects these people are saying...when used correctly it is a wonderful help to someone who cannot sleep and has had insomnia for years!!

So let me get this straight....He admitted to his girlfriend that he killed this two women right. So why did it take two days for the bodies to be found?? Why didn't his girlfriend call the police when he told her that he killed them????

always the drug that causes problems not the person. kinda like guns kill people well no they dont people have to pull the trigger. this kid admitted to the murders to his girlfriend and police hang him now

Those two look strung out? They look like the run if the mill average, young, girls growing up that I see everyday. We all have phases we go through when finding ourselves. That opinion should be kept to yourself. These girls have families and friends who love and know them. Everyone makes bad descions when growing up it doesn't make it fair/ what happened because they don't look how you want them to. Rude.

I used to work with rose she was a very sweet and loving girl she did not deserve to die this way. she still had alot of life to live.rest in peace rose and daisy you will be greatly missed

Strung out or not, nobody deserves to die like that. I am familiar with Ambien and although you can have severe side effects, committing MURDER is not one of them. He knew what he did because he told his girlfriend about it. Though I have no doubt in my mind they will try to use the drug to excuse his way out of responsibility.

Sorry for the honesty but, those two look strung out. And if he was dealing in Ambien, he was probably taking it himself. Ambien when abused can cause amnesia. I truely believe that he won't remember a thing about the murders until he gets walked through it. After reading about cases of Ambien abuse, I would not put it past anyone that is on it to, either commit murder or become enchanted with the outcome of being murdered. Look up the side effects of this stuff. Then find out where and how he got it. Also get the Dr. to explain his discharge and prescriptions he was on. It may hurt some feelings about what is found out but don't sugar coat the fact that this drug is wicked and needs to be pulled from the public. I know because I've lost a friend to Ambien and would love to have that friend back in my life and the Dr. arrested for not knowing when to pull them off it.
