BILLINGS - MSU-Billings supporters now have two new ways to sport their Yellowjacket enthusiasm around town. The university released two new license plates, and one of those plates displays the new logo adopted in 2007.

The university previously had Eastern Montana College plates, and they introduced MSUB plates in the late 1990s to show the transition of the college to a university. They have retired the prior MSUB plate, but those who still have it can continue to renew it.

University officials said it's time for a new look.

"The plate is more indicative or reflective of this current student body who's graduating," said Aaron Clingingsmith with University Relations. "So it's (an) updated, fresh look for everybody."

Proceeds of the plates go to MSU Billings scholarships and programs. It costs $50 for the original title and registration of one of the plates, and $30 of that amount goes to the university. It costs $75 for a personalized plate, with $30 going to the university.

MSUB officials designed the plate under the guidance of the Department of Justice. To view the plates on their website, click here.
