BILLINGS - Good news for two Billings colleges, MSUB and Rocky Mountain College were just ranked among the best in the region.

U.S. News and World Report released its rankings of top universities and colleges in the nation. Montana State University Billings is ranked 77th in the top tier of the western region universities. Rocky Mountain College ranked seventh in western regional colleges.

Both schools said it shows growth and hope the rankings attract more students in the future.

"For us it's an affirmation of excellence which we've known for a while that MSUB is a great place for students to come," MSUB spokesman Dan Carter said.

"We're proud of what we've done, friends of the college, outcomes of our students. It all plays into the fact that students who come to this college find us sometimes with this ranking from U.S. News and World Report," Rocky Mountain College President Michael Mace said.

Classes start soon for both schools; next week for Rocky, and September 8 for MSUB. Rocky has a record enrollment for the coming school year.
