Nonprofits are Thriving

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - Montana nonprofits are thriving according to Brian Magee, Executive Director of the Montana Nonprofit Association. He said Montanan's spirit of giving help sustain organizations during times of national and local economic woes.
He also added many nonprofits have assumed support duties before the government steps in to help, which has proven problematic. "Although some of the responsibility may be put on nonprofit organizations to do it, the financial means and resources have not held," said Magee.
The Montana Nonprofit Association is holding their 6th Annual Conference, September 24th-through-26th in Billings at the Holiday Inn Grand Montana. It is designed to promote strong organizations through advice from experts, and conversation with fellow nonprofit agencies.
