BILLINGS - Local law enforcement officials spent Saturday afternoon waiting on others in a unique way.

Officers with the Yellowstone County Sheriff's office, MSU-B campus police and the Billings Police Department partnered with Red Robin; raising money and awareness for Special Olympics.

Through the 'Tip-A-Cop' event, officers took orders, delivered drinks, served food and interacted with local residents. It was an experience that some officer's say proved to be a little harder than it looked.

"I've been helping refill drinks. We have some officers that are helping take the food to the table. When I got to the table I was like now who had the chocolate milk and who had the diet soda? I've never waited tables before," said Sheriff Deputy Troy Charbonneau.

Red Robin general manager Margie Smith said she was more than willing to participate in the event.

"It's an awesome opportunity and of course we wanted to take part. Red Robin has done this I think last year and then they opened it up to all Red Robin restaurants and we climbed on board. I think it's really important to be a part of the community and help."

Any money raised will be donated to Special Olympics Montana.
