BILLINGS - Women from all across Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas are expected to make their way to Billings for one of the state's largest women's conferences.
The Women of Faith conference kicks off its 2010 tour right here in the magic city, this weekend. In preparation for the event, dozens of people were hard at work Thursday setting up.
In recent years the conference has made billings an annual stop for its U.S. tour. Women of Faith president, Mary Graham, said the decision to return to Billings was simple. "You can fly anywhere from Dallas nonstop, except to billings Montana. But it's worth it. I'll change planes to come to Billings Montana because of the people. "
Inspirational speaker Sheila Walsh has toured with the conference for 14 years. She says the event is geared towards women from all walks of life. "It doesn't matter whether you're 90 or 19. Whether you are at the best in your life, or the worst. You're rich or poor. When God's grace falls upon us all we are all, we suddenly see each other with different eyes."
Graham agrees, "Women of Faith is just a very large living room, it's just a circle of friends. Women of all stages in life, all walks of life. We call it Women of Faith, but it's open to women who have no faith."
Graham said the 30 week conference is hard work but said if just one woman understands the purpose; it makes it all worth it. "I hope women of all walks of life or no faith would come to an event in an arena like women of faith and they would learn that God loves you. That God will meet you where you are and He will help you."
A lesson graham hopes thousands of women will take with them this weekend.
The Women of Faith conference begins Friday morning at 10 at Metra Park and runs through Saturday evening. For more information on the event, log onto kulr8.com and click on connections.
