BILLINGS - A Montana group gaining support as a self-proclaimed watchdog of federal government helps some Native Americans find their voice.

Montana Shrugged is teaming up with members of the Crow Tribe to create the 'Crow Nation Teaparty.' Monday, they voiced their concern over an agreement between the tribe and a company looking to build a coal-to-liquids plant.

But, spokespeople for both groups said the partnership goes beyond one issue. "It was at one time 'We the People,'" said Karmelita Plains Bull Martin, "we're trying to help the Crow nation get their voice back, pretty much along the foundation and premises of Montana Shrugged."

"We're kind of the experts now because we've been doing it for a year, how to rally how to get people fired up," said Eric Olsen of Montana Shrugged, "we're concerned citizens for America, working on American problems, they're concerned citizens working on Indian problems."

The water rights dispute is currently in the court system. Crow Tribal Chairman Cedric Black Eagle could not be reached for comment.
