BILLINGS - Thousands of Billings youngsters celebrated the 100th year of the Boy Scouts of America with a scouting show Saturday.

More than 30 troops participated in Saturday’s event. Activities began Saturday morning with a color guard presenting the flag. Events also included building projects and a pine wood derby race. Organizers of the event say the show creates unity among the boys.

"The scout show kind of solidifies what we try to do. You have leaders and youth of all different ranks in scouting. Older youth often are the role models for the younger ones and so they're guiding them along." said Scout show chairperson Shelli Butz.

The event runs all day and is held every year.
