BILLINGS - Officials say more than 70 people will lose their jobs when a chain of Montana stores shuts down.

The president of Montana Furniture Industries said five Montana Furniture Galleries Stores including one in Billings will be going out of business.

President Greg Metzger said he will be closing the wood furniture factory near Bozeman that supplies the stores. Stores in Missoula and Helena will be also closing.

The company started in 1984 selling furniture in Montana and also distributing throughout other states. Metzger blames the economic downturn on the decision.

Going out of business sales are in progress but no word on when the stores will close for good.

here we go again.This is too surreal of what happend back in the 90`s when the economy tanked and billings became a near ghost town.Thank you all for voting obama for your president.he is more worried about shoving health care than getting this country back on track.

Too bad I don't have any extra money to take advantage of the going-out-of-business sale. My kids could use a dresser.
