RED LODGE - A 66-year-old Fromberg man will spend at least 20 years in prison for the shooting death of his own son.

Larry Daniels received a 60-year term to the Montana State Prison Wednesday. Carbon County District Judge, Blair Jones, ruled Daniels will not be eligible for parole for 20 years.

Daniels was convicted in January with the murder of his 43-year-old son, Buddy, last May. During his trial, the elder Daniels claimed he acted in self-defense. He told the court Wednesday he loved his son and wishes he could turn back the clock.

Buddy Daniel's teenage son, Hagen, also testified Wednesday, asking the court to impose the full prison term for his grandfather.

"He took my dad, my best friend and my everything," said Hagen.

Under the sentence, Daniels will not be eligible for parole until he is nearly 90-years-old.

wait,wait,wait he acted in self defense ok.He is sent away for life cause he will die in prison.Yet the stupid judges we have let the revolving door of drunk drivers continue too turn hummm we need to change something here.
