School Board Discusses Superintendents

BILLINGS - School District 2 spends more time Monday night discussing how to find the next superintendent.

School board trustees plan to use site visits as a last resort. The first step to following up interviews will be reference calls for each candidate, followed by video conference interviews and then if necessary, trustees say they will follow up with site visits.

Trustees had considered visiting Eric Ely in New York and Keith Beeman in California, but because of scheduling conflicts, they don't know if they'd have time to make those trips. The board will ask the Montana School Board Association to first follow up with references for each candidate.

Then, they will conduct video conference interviews with each candidate and finally, if trustees feel they need to visit the hometowns of any of the candidates they will continue do so.

Trustees don't know when they will do these video follow up interviews. The board still hopes to name the next superintendent around April 1st.
