BILLINGS - The State AA boys and girls basketball tournament began Thursday at Billings Metra.

Sixteen teams from across the state are vying for the state title, and for some local schools the basketball tourney is a family affair.

Basketball players Brian, Brady and Daine don't just share the same school colors, they also share the same last name.

"To have 3 brothers on the varsity team is really unusual and it's really been a pleasure all year." West high boys' basketball head coach, Doug Robison said the Muller's are the first trio of brothers he's ever coached. "They're all three different kids, they all do a great job, they all have different personalities."

Brian, the oldest, said he enjoys playing alongside family. "It's been a lot of fun throughout the whole year. Just trying to bring them with me along and hopefully make them a little better."

The brothers say they are just like any other family; they all have their ups and downs. "We don't fight a lot but we get on each other," said Daine Muller, "we tell each other when we make mistakes so we can fix it and correct them and help each other out."

Help Bray Muller said makes them all better players. "It's just brotherly love; you give each other crap sometimes and just sometimes help each other."

Brotherly love that Robison said affects the entire team. "Once we walk on the court, we're all brothers, we're all teammates." A family tie that Robison hopes will earn them the state title.
