BILLINGS - Loved ones have come up with a way they want to honor a former Billings educator killed in a recent car crash.

The Montana Center on Disabilities at MSU-Billings has established a scholarship in Merry Jane Trewhella's name. She was killed February 22nd when police say a drunk driver struck her car.

The $250-dollar scholarship will be given out for the Fall semester to a Montana resident majoring in education with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Anyone wanting to support the cause can send tax-deductible donations to the "Merry Jane Trewhella Memorial Scholarship Endowment" to the MSU Billings Foundation, 1500 University Drive, Billings, MT 59101.

Trewhella taught in School District 2 and was a lecturer at the MSU-B College of Education. She was also an advocate for special needs students and a long time volunteer at the Western Heritage Center.
