BILLINGS – A cat found in the back of a truck making a delivery to a local Albertsons has passed away. Allie the cat was discovered March 3rd in a truck that was making a delivery at an Albertsons grocery store in Billings. That is how Allie got her name, after Albertsons.

Staff at the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said her death came as a shock. They said she was recovering from her injuries and dehydration. They even sent her home with a foster family on Saturday. However they said by Sunday morning she was gone.

They said she had a blood parasite that caused acute anemia. They said she was on antibiotics but the illness was too much for her already weakened body to overcome.

The delivery truck driver believed Allie had hitched a ride to Billings from Salt Lake City.

I'm sorry little kitty for the pain you have endured. You are much better now on your next journey! Thank you to ALL who helped this little girl! You did everything you could, and by this little girl trying to get in this bag for shelter, she was just reaching out and asking for help, while trying to stay safe. All of you were saints in helping her! Thank you to KULR for covering this story.
