BILLINGS - A Florida man accused of killing a Billings man last summer is now facing new charges.

Thirty-seven-year-old Amasa Niles is accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Troy Holland at the Rainbow Motel last August. Court documents said Niles was involved in a love triangle that led to Holland's death.

Monday, the Yellowstone County Attorney added tampering with evidence to the charges. He said Niles hid the gun and fled the scene.

Niles is expected to argue the shooting was self-defense. He has a checkered criminal past in Florida, New York and Montana. He is held on $250,000 dollars bond.
