BILLINGS - Billings Attorney Marvin McCann said he wants to be Yellowstone County's next top prosecutor.

The republican candidate announced his plans to run for Yellowstone County Attorney at Stellas Kitchen and Bakery Monday afternoon.

McCann is the first candidate to challenge Dennis Paxinos for the job in 16 years. He said a recent sexual harassment complaint by a former staffer shows a lack of judgment.

"The conduct of the county attorney, it's just not excusable, I think he needs to be held accountable and I think the voters will have the opportunity to do that," said McCann.

Paxinos was cleared of any wrongdoing by a private investigator hired by the county.

McCann has been practicing law since 1998 and was the Beaverhead County Attorney from 2003-to-2008.

It's about time somebody ran against Paxinos.He's got my vote. After Paxino's scandal it's time somebody else was in charge.
