BILLINGS - A measure that supporters say would help Billings firefighters respond faster to medical calls is at a standstill after Monday's city council meeting.p> City staffers evaluated more than 30 bids they received for two new quick response vehicles.

Officials said they'll use the smaller vehicles to respond to medical calls, which are the most common calls received by the department.

An amount of $250,000 dollars has already been secured for the purchase in this year's budget. The vote was tied Monday night, so the discussion has been put on hold.
