BILLINGS - Black History Month came to a close as dozens of Billings residents gathered Sunday afternoon to celebrate.

Community members of all ages, races and gender celebrated African American culture with music, readings and a fashion show featuring authentic African dress. Members said the Billings community does a great job supporting and celebrating diversity, but hope to see things improve even more.

"Hopefully one day we won't have to have a black history month, we won't have to have a Hispanic month, we wont have to have a native American month because it will automatically be taught in our schools and our history will be taught to all kids." said Robert Brown, a member of the Wayman Chapel.

Black History Month is recognized every February and celebrates the diversity and culture of African American heritage.
