BILLINGS - A Ballantine soldier is receiving an unusual honor from the Army: he is being immortalized in a bronze memorial statue.

A bronze model of Staff Sergeant Cody Hoefer will stand next to a 22-foot obelisk at Fort Benning in Georgia. The statue is modeled after a photo that appeared on the cover of Time Magazine nearly 6 years ago.

The statue is complete, but the Army is still seeking donations to build the rest of the memorial. Hoefer is currently on his 4th tour of Iraq.
