BILLINGS - A Billings man is campaigning for a new personalized approach to education that is geared towards a child's learning level rather than their grade.

Vice president of the Billings Humanists, Kent Harris, spoke to member of the Billings community Sunday about renovating the classroom. Harris said elementary schools should start focusing on tailored, computer-assisted instruction. He said a custom-made approach to learning will benefit kids in the long run.

"We all are different in how we receive education and how we translate teachers ugh, instructions into our knowledge. And if you can personalize this education it's a tremendous benefit." Harris plans to spend the next few months raising awareness about the idea, then present his ideas to the state legislature.
