BILLINGS - Billings firefighters said their goodbyes to three retiring captains Saturday.

Dozens of people assembled for the annual retirement banquet at the Billings Depot. The three captains: Bob Dunn, Ron Snelling, and Steve Wilson recently ended their long careers with the Billings Fire Department. Together, they logged more than 90 years of service. Snelling said although he is looking forward to catching up on some much-needed sleep, it is hard to say goodbye to his brothers and sisters in the force.

"You see a lot of hardships in this job, with trauma and incidents that involve people who need help," Captain Ron Snelling said. "And that's why we do this job, because we like to help people. So you need that time together to share and be family, and that's what we are, a family."

This was the 7th annual retirement banquet put on for Billings firefighters.
