BILLINGS - The General Services Administration responded to a Montana construction's firm protest that has stalled construction of a new federal courthouse in downtown Billings.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office is overseeing the protest that was filed January 11th. Sletten Construction of Great Falls claims the GSA did not properly evaluate the proposals.

A Minnesota firm was awarded the design-build contract in the amount of $59 million dollars. Sletten said its bid was lower. They are asking the GSA to hand over a number of documents including those reflecting how they evaluated the proposals.

The GAO has said its investigation could last until April 21st.
