Madison Arm fire 100% contained

By KULR & The Associated Press

WEST YELLOWSTONE - Fire officials say the wildfire near West Yellowstone is 100% contained.
Fire information officer David Early says staffing has been scaled back from about 320 people Monday, to about 230 people Tuesday. At the height of the staffing, nearly 500 people were assigned to the blaze.
The Madison Arm fire has burned an estimated 3,660 acres, or nearly six square miles, in the Gallatin National Forest. Early says more crews will be leaving Wednesday, and the local U.S. Forest Service district will take over management of the fire on Thursday.
The wildfire began last Wednesday and is burning two miles north of West Yellowstone in the Hebgen Lake Ranger District. The Forest Service says the blaze was caused by human activity, but investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened.
Residents and resort guests who were ordered to evacuate because of the fire have all been allowed to return.
