BILLINGS - Billings Police continue to investigate a domestic dispute that left one man dead.

Daisy Morast, 24, has been released from police custody after authorities said the stabbing could have been a justifiable use of force. 911 calls reveal a hysterical Morast during the early morning of Saturday, December 12th. She placed a frantic call at around 1:30 a.m.

Dispatcher: "What's going on exactly?"

Daisy: "My husband is trying to kill me."

Morast is referring to Jason Morast, 27. She continued to plead for help.

The dispatcher asked where her husband is.

Dispatcher: "Where is he at that address ma'am?"

Daisy: "Here.... I stabbed him."

Dispatcher: "You stabbed him?"

Daisy: "I did."

The call then ends. After several attempts the dispatcher re-establishes communication.

Daisy: "... he's dying."

Dispatcher: "He's dying, okay, we have officers en route."

Daisy: "...he's dead!"

Police said Jason Morast died on the scene of multiple stab wounds. Daisy was treated for injuries received in the altercation and then detained on suspicion of deliberate homicide. She was released two days later.

Police said after reviewing the 911 calls, talking with family members, looking over Daisy's medical records, and the autopsy results, they felt the stabbing could have been justifiable use of force. Their investigation continues.

The Yellowstone County Attorney's office has yet to take over the case. Prosecutors will ultimately decide whether to file any criminal charges.

domestic violence is so overlooked by our society and by law enforcement...i know first hand how nobody believes you when you go to get help....its always your fault or because you brought it on.....shame on anyone who discounts it. you will never hear of anyone who has lived it discount it. is sad that daisy had to protect herself from this basterd, someone should have helped her. anyone out there feeling compelled to criticize; my wish for you is that you never have to experience it
