BILLINGS - Every 11 seconds, somebody in the world dies from complications related to AIDS. But members of AIDSpirit Montana are trying to change that.

At a prayer service held Tuesday night at American Lutheran Church in Billings, members of AIDSpirit raised awareness of the devastating effects of the AIDS pandemic.

In addition to the presentations, the service also featured hymns and a candle lighting memorial.

"It's important for me to gather with other people that have known loved ones that have suffered from and died of AIDS and remember them and pray for a cure for AIDS," said Kathy Brayko, AIDSpirit Montana.

Donations from Tuesday's event will go toward AIDS widows and orphans in Uganda and Kenya.
